Introducing our face lift!

Finally it has arrived - our new look website!

To those of you who are new subscribers - welcome!  To all our existing subscribers - wow, what a face lift eh?

Our new website has been a while  in coming, but worth the wait!  Whereas we have traditionally had two websites - one for our finished products (www.plushfolly.com) and one for our workshops, distance learning programmes, kits and packaging (makeyourowncosmetics.co.uk) - we have now merged the information, chopped, changed and generally botoxed and emerged with a beautiful, hopefully easy to use and informative, fabulous transformation!  Both the above web addresses will navigate you to the new site so no need to update your favourites and bookmarks.

As well as making it easier for us to maintain, we did this for you - so if you feel there is anything else you'd like to see on the site, please let us know.  Our contact details are at the end of the newsletter.

Weekend Courses - The first of our weekend workshops was a hit!  Students went away armed with masses of bath products and received their cold processed soap by post a few days later.

Our next weekend workshop is Saturday 28th June where we will be making natural skincare and SPA products.  Why not grab yourself a space and come and have fun?

Cosmetics College - Our new Cosmetics College programme has been developed to lips courseaccommodate students who “want to learn everything”, and includes products from our skincare, spa, bath, soap, detox, chocolate, perfume, herbs, hair care and cosmetics legislation courses.

Training is delivered via a series of workshops and self study, with email and telephone access to your assigned tutor.

The programme is flexible and offered as a pick and mix type arrangement allowing you to determine how much training you take, how long you spend on the programme and how much you spend.

The programme can take anything up to 18 months to complete, depending on the time you can set aside for learning.  See our website for details

Natural Remedies for Tired Eyes

Mother Nature’s Eye Treatment

Cucumber!  Take a slice of cucumber, lie back and place a slice over each eye.  Keep your eyes shut underneath the cucumber for 10 – 15 minutes or so.  Remove the cucumber and discard.

Tea Bags!  Take two tea bags that have been used to brew a cup of team.  Make sure that they are moist and cool (or cold).  Place the tea bags over your eyes as above.  Green tea bags are especially useful for reducing puffiness around your eyes as are chamomile tea bags.

Eyebright Infusion - Place 1 teaspoon of dried eyebright herbs and 1 teaspoon dried chamomile flowers and place in a small cup or bowl.  Pour 30g boiling water over the herbs / flowers and allow to seep for at least 15 minutes.  Strain and cool before use.

To use - dunk two cotton wool pads into the cooled infusion and squeeze to remove excess liquid.  Place a cotton wool pad on each eyelid and leave for 5-10 minutes.  Keep infusion in the fridge and use within 3 days.
