Plush Chocca Folly!
Although we are far from chocaholics, chocolate does make a big appearance (not for long!) in our house at Christmas.
Years ago my mother made us an advent calendar that has 24 little stockings attached to it. These get filled with Quality Street, Roses, Heroes or similar and we take in in turns to open them. I always hope I don't get the coffee cream... One of my Christmas treats is a box of coveted Bendicks Special MInts which I start on Christmas day and then have a personal challenge not to eat the last one until we are taking down the tree on 12th night.
My husband and children are in for a special treat when they wake up on Christmas day. I went to Brighton recently and absolutely fell in love with Choccywoccydoodah and have bought them each a chocolate surprise. Do check out those chocolate shoes!
But our Christmas surprise today is a Plush Chocca Folly Face Mask....
Ingredients:
1 teaspoon cocoa powder
1 teaspoon cornflour
2 teaspoons cosmetic clay
1 teaspoon olive oil
2-3 teaspoons cream (ok it can be yoghurt if you want to save the cream!)
Method:
Put the cocoa, cornflour and clay in a small bowl and mix well. Add the olvie oil and cream and mix again. Adjust consistency as necessary by adding more poweders or liquids. You are looking for a glossy thick double cream conssitency that glops off the spoon rather than trickles.
Directions for use: Apply a thin layer to your face, avoiding the eye area. Leave for 10 mintues then wash (wash - we said wash not lick, no matter how tempting) with tepid water. Apply a layer of your favourite moisturiser.
Shelf Life: 2 days (keep in fridge)
Now the technical bit! Chocolate is well known for its positive and uplifiting effect on the mind and mood. It is stuffed with antioxidants which help to keep the skin supple and younger looking by neutralizing free radicals. If left unattended, these annoying little free radicals will eventually cause premature sagging, wrinkles and other signs of ageing. We know it will happen one day, but we can fight against looking old with chocolate!
We'd rather chocolate than prune!
