Coco-Caprylate (aka Coco Caprylate / Caprate, Saboderm CV and Cetiol C5) is a plant-derived natural alternative to silicones.  It spreads beautifully onto the skin leaving no greasy residue, just a silky soft moisturised feeling.  
It is 100% renewable and biodegradeable and is approved by NaTrue, Ecocert and BDIH.
 
It is an ester of coconut fatty alcohol, caprylic acid and capric acid and offers nourishing and moisturising properties whilst adding glide and a velvety, sensuous feeling.
 
It can be used in perfumes, lip, makeup, skin care and hair care products.
 
In skin care products it is used as a natural moisturiser, enhances skin glide and silky post-application feeling without imparting any greasy residue.  It is moisturising and conditioning.  Use between 2-25%. 
 
It is the perfect base for a dry body/hair oil, post-shaving moisturisers, conditioners and foundations.   
 
Recipe for Springshine Dry Body Oil
25 drops linden blossom
10 drops lemon verena
12 drops peony
5 drops lotus flower
4 drops oak moss
3 drops  tonka bean
1 drops vetiver
22ml coco-caprylate
 
Blend the fragrance/essential oils in a 50ml glass beaker.  Add the coco-caprylate and stir well.  Pour into a 25ml glass perfume spray bottle.
 
To apply:  Spritz onto skin and massage gently until absorbed
