Pouring eco-resin into a mould

Assemble everything you need. Assuming you have worked out how much powder and liquid you need then let’s go!

  • Shake the bottle of activating liquid (if using)
  • Weigh the activator liquid or water (in a paper coffee cup, plastic tub or similar)
  • Weigh the powder (in a paper coffee cup, plastic tub or similar)
  • Add a little of your colour to the water and stir well
  • Gradually add the powder to the water vessel stirring as you go
    • you will need to stir thoroughly but not so briskly that you produce (too many) bubbles
    • no matter how thoroughly you think you have stirred in the powder, scrape around the bottom edges of the pot to mix in any undissolved powder that may be lurking there
    • ok, so you may have bubbles - tap the outside of the mixing vessel to bring the bubbles to the surface where hopefully they will dissipate
  • Once your mixture is smooth and lump and mostly bubble free, it is ready for pouring
  • Place your mould on a flat surface
  • Carefully and confidently pour a small amount of the mixture into the mould
  • Tap the mould and/or gently slap it onto the flat surface to ensure that the mixture can release any trapped air bubbles
  • Continue pouring and tap tap tapping and/or slap slap slapping until the mould is full or you run the risk of spillage if you tap or slap any more
  • Once the mould is full, leave it alone!
  • Use the waiting time to clean up
