herbsHerbal Hot Oil Treatment

A lovely, rich treatment for your hair which harnesses the remedial properties of the herbs

25g oil (coconut, jojoba, sweet almond, sunflower, olive)
a good handful of herbs (use double the amount of fresh herb to dried herb)
1g essential oil (optional)

Place oils in a jug or kilner jar.  Add herbs and essential oil (if using) and leave to infuse for up to three months.  Alternatively warm the oil/herbs in a microwave or on a hob until the oil is slightly hotter than hand hot.  Leave to cool.  Once cool, add the essential oils (if using).

Strain before use either using a seive or tie a piece of muslin or clean hosiery loosely over a cup and secure in place with an elastic band.  Pour the oil into the muslin or hosiery which will act as a seive.  Discard the herbs, use the oil.

Place the oil onto your hair, carefully massaging it into the scalp.  Avoid contact with eyes.  Wrap hair in a towel or cling film and leave for at least 20 minutes.  Shampoo out as normal.  You may need to shampoo twice to ensure that all traces of oil have been removed.

Shelf life:  3 months from straining

broccoli

Broccoli Seed Pre-Shampoo Treatment

Broccoli seed oil is rich in Vitamin A and polyunsaturated fats.  Place a small amount of broccoli seed oil on the palm of your hand and rub your palms together as if washing your hands. Now run your fingers and hands through your hair and 'combing' your hair with your fingers.

Leave the broccoli seed oil on your hair for 15 minutes and then shampoo and condition as normal. Repeat broccoli seed oil treatment once a week.

5g d-panthenol

15 drops patchouli essential oil
5 drops rose essential oil
